Consultancy - Capacity Development, MADIO hotspot
We are looking for a Capacity Development Consultant to provide technical leadership, strategic oversight and support for the successful implementation of the MADIO hotspot project.

The primary objective of the Capacity Development Consultant (CDC) is to provide technical leadership, strategic oversight and support to Asity Madagascar, in order to ensure the successful implementation of the 2-year BirdLife project in the MADIO hotspot (2025-2027).
The CDC will also be responsible for managing donor relations, building the capacity of local partners, and ensuring that the project meets its goals and complies with all donor and legal requirements.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:
- Comprehensive reports on project progress, including donor-specific reports.
- Technical guidance documents and protocols for various conservation activities.
- Capacity-building workshops and training sessions.
- Strategic recommendations and adaptive management strategies.
- Regular updates and communication materials for stakeholders.
- Any other deliverables as specified in the work plan and management plan.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Advanced degree in Conservation, Environmental Education and Science, Participatory Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in biodiversity conservation and protected area management, preferably in the West Indian Ocean Islands.
- At least 10 years of experience in capacity development, conservation project and programme management, protected areas management including experience with communications, public-private partnerships and donor-funded projects.
- In-depth knowledge of conservation practices, ecological monitoring, and community-based conservation strategies and the theory of change.
- Proven capacity development skills, leadership and management abilities, with experience in strengthening civil society organisations, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including local communities, government officials, and international donors. Knowledge of Malagasy will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant reporting and communication tools.
