Central Asian Flyway Coordinator
We are looking for a Central Asian Flyway Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of BirdLife’s work for the conservation of migratory birds in the Central Asian Flyway.

Contract: 2-year fixed term
Salary: SGD 50,000 - 60,000 per annum

We are looking for a Central Asian Flyway Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of BirdLife’s work for the conservation of migratory birds in the Central Asian Flyway. In this role you will be Coordinating the BirdLife Conservation Strategy for the Central Asian Flyway in collaboration with BirdLife Partners.
How you will do this:
- Coordinate the BirdLife Conservation Strategy for the Central Asian Flyway.
- Engage BirdLife Partners and strengthen their capacity for bird conservation through studies, fundraising, and project management.
- Support Partners in conserving priority species such as bustards, vultures, Black-necked Crane, Steppe Eagle, Saker Falcon, and Sociable Lapwing.
- Manage and monitor BirdLife projects, maintain administrative and financial records, and ensure quality reporting for donors.
- Forge strategic alliances to advance Central Asian Flyway conservation, including with the CMS Initiative for the Central Asian Flyway (ICAF).
- Develop initiatives and projects aligned with BirdLife's 5-year Flyways Programme and regional strategies for ECA, Asia, and the Middle East.
- Assist the Asia Communication team in creating materials, activities, and events to promote migratory bird conservation.
- Identify projects and develop fundraising proposals in line with Central Asian Flyway priorities.
- Ensure high-quality information is available for fundraising, marketing, and communication.
- Represent BirdLife International at regional and global conservation meetings and events.
Ideally you will have:
- MSc Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant nature conservation subject.
- Project Management Training or extensive experience.
- Experience in coordinating complex programs and projects with diverse stakeholders, ideally in migratory species conservation.
- Ability to support and stimulate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to explain complex issues to various audiences, including policymakers.
- Experience in proposal development and project design.
- Fundraising: Some demonstrable experience and success.
- Wildlife Handling Knowledge: Basic experience (e.g. bird ringing, satellite tagging) is a plus.
- Basic experience with statistical tools (R, Python) and program/map-making skills (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Organisational Skills: Good management, problem-solving, and basic financial literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, including drafting high-quality documents.
- Experience working within a multi-cultural team and diverse nationalities.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as needed
